Red Cross

Hi!  If you enjoy this blog, please become
a follower, I need to know if anyone is out
there using these tutorials!  And pop on over
to the American Homestead blog and see what
is going on in my life.  All the best!  ~ Ellen

I made this block in honor of those
who lost so much in the terrible
tornadoes that hit my State this week
and for those that help with the recovery.
This makes a 10 1/2" block unfinished.

Fabric A: White
4 - 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles
2 - 2 1/2" x 6" strips
Fabric B; Red
2 - 2 1/2" squares
1 - 2 1/2" x 6" strip
1 - 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strip

Make Center Unit:
Sew a Fabric A 2 1/2" x 6" strip to each
long edge of Fabric B 2 1/2" x 6" strip.
Square off one edge and cut 2 - 2 1/2" units.

Place above units on each side of Fabric B
2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strip. Sew together, press
seams to the Fabric B. Square to 6 1/2".

Layout units as shown and sew together
in 3 rows. Press seams in rows 1 & 3
to the inside and row 2 to the outside.

Sew rows together and press final seams
open to reduce bulk. Square to 10 1/2".
